Eden Beans are mostly from the Midwest near Eden headquarters. Some, like chickpeas and lentils, require a drier climate and soil like that of California, Arizona, Colorado, and North Dakota. Eden beans include both dry (in boxes) and canned, plain, seasoned, refried, chili (beans & whole grain), and brown rice & beans. All are superb, potently beneficial, and most delicious.

Since 1991, Eden Beans are canned at Eden Food’s organic, kosher cannery in east central Indiana, prepared using methods perfected in home kitchens. Soaked overnight to enhance taste and digestibility, and then pressure cooked with kombu. This contributes to exceptional taste and well prepares them for assimilation.

Eden Beans are cooked without any untoward chemicals like calcium chloride to harden the bean skins so they do not fall apart when cooked, and calcium disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) to hold their color. Chemical use need not be declared in the ingredients when used, so they are hidden. Vital organic soil and healthy plants grow beans of a higher mineral content that do not need chemicals to maintain a cosmetic appearance.

Through persistent effort , Eden Foods pioneered BPA, BPS, and phthalate-free food cans. Doing so changed the entire food canning industry in the U.S.
