Bay Leaf Powder Laurus nobilis is dried, ground leaves of sweet bay laurel, an evergreen tree native to Asia Minor and the Mediterranean. Bay laurel is a symbol of honor. This mildly sweet, floral spice is used in soup, stew, sweet white sauce, pâte, and for pickling. It goes well with fish and seafood, and is one of the ingredients of 'bouquet garni', herbs used to season soups and seafood chowders such as bouillabaisse. Powdered bay leaf is sometimes added to bread dough. Bay leaf powder is more concentrated than whole bay leaf, use it moderately. Organically grown. Protective amber glass jar, kosher and pareve.
